Meyer Sound returned to Roskilde Festival, powering the Orange Stage with PANTHER and 2100-LFC systems
One of Europe’s biggest festivals, Roskilde has been bringing music and art to Denmark since 1972. Now in its eighth year as an official partner, Meyer Sound has delivered reliable audio to the Orange Stage at Roskilde Festival 2025. The setup featured PANTHER large-format line arrays and 2100-LFC low-frequency control elements.
With seven stages packed into a small area, the Roskilde Festival needed a dependable sound design. Lars Liliengren, the festival’s head of production, explained the reasoning behind selecting Meyer Sound, saying, “With Meyer Sound, we ensure perfect coverage and minimal disturbance of the stages.”
The use of PANTHER and 2100-LFC together was inspired by their ability to merge seamlessly. Bob McCarthy, director of system optimisation at Meyer Sound, said, “The thing about PANTHER and 2100-LFC is that they were made all along knowing who it’s going to be mating with, so they have a very compatible phase response.”
At the Orange Stage, the system included 135 PANTHER loudspeakers and 56 2100-LFC low-frequency control elements. Additional support came from 29 1100-LFC and 24 900-LFC elements. Complementing these were eight LEOPARD M80 compact linear line arrays and six ULTRA-X40 compact point source loudspeakers.
But it wasn’t only the Orange Stage that benefited from Meyer Sound technology. The Arena, Apollo, Avalon and EOS stages also featured PANTHER sound equipment. This brought the festival’s total number of PANTHER loudspeakers to 239, showing the reliance on Meye Sound throughout the event.
Next year, the Orange Stage will expand to accommodate the production for even larger touring performances.
