From Fibonacci to full dome, SMODE is helping power a real-time visual feat for Flore and WSK’s immersive show across Canada and France
Smode Tech’s live compositing platform is powering a maths-meets-art performance, created entirely within SMODE by visual artist Yannick Moréteau and composer Flore. Sensitive Abstraction has now been touring planetaria and digital arts festivals since 2024.
The show visualises mathematical concepts and synchronises them in real time with Flore’s spatial audio. Moréteau, founder of WSK, developed and now runs the entire performance – bringing the Fibonacci sequence and Euclidean grids to life – using a single SMODE media server.
This media server allows Moréteau to control everything, from generating content to previewing the dome projection. “In a dome, working with real-time generative content is essential,” explained Moréteau. “You need to be able to adjust perspectives on the spot; drawing a straight line in a hemisphere is quite a challenge!”
Sensitive Abstraction uses two synced computers – a desktop for video and a laptop for audio – with content streamed at 4K resolution. However, the projection setup inevitably changes depending on the venue. A unique venue was La Rayonne concert space in Lyon, which used eight projectors along with 157 loudspeakers.

“The set-up is scalable from one dome to another,” said Moréteau. “We often need to make adjustments depending on the dome’s angle and shape – whether it’s a perfect 180° hemisphere or not.”
Alongside touring Sensitive Abstraction, the WSK collective has also led SMODE workshops and demos for budding visual designers. This initiative is helping foster future professionals, as well as promote technology from Smode Tech.
