Sagebrush Church strikes the right note with 1 Sound

Sagebrush Church amps up worship with 1 Sound's Contour Series, bringing clear, even and punchy audio to every seat in the large Worship Centre and beyond

Sagebrush Church is one of the largest churches in Albuquerque, New Mexico, seating up to 3000 people in its Worship Centre. With full bands, weekly services, events and live-streamed productions, clear and consistent audio has been a top priority for the church. To create a comprehensive AV experience for visitors, Sagebrush turned to 1 Sound for an expert audio solution.

Before partnering with 1 Sound, the church’s existing audio system had reached its limits. “We started seeing systemic issues like shorts, and tonally, the system just wasn’t giving us what we needed,” says Ryan Peddycoart, production director. “Even at low volumes, there was distortion in the lows.”

The main concern was addressing delay coverage. The Worship Centre required a system that could reach the back of the room while remaining clear, natural and impactful. The team also needed to be able to control a low-end build-up in the space, ensuring the bass didn’t overpower any part of the room.

The final design now features 1 Sound’s Contour Series as the backbone of the main audio. By using six CT212 flown as main left, centre and right clusters, seven CT28s as delay fills, and six SUB2112 subs near the stage, full-range sound is provided to each audience member. Eight mounted Cannon C8i loudspeakers also deliver the energy and clarity needed for the first rows, ensuring every seat has the same experience. Additionally, Powersoft Unica amplifiers power the system, giving precise control over every element.

Sagebrush also deployed 1 Sound's new Panorama 65 in their live video studio. Using proprietary Panorama Technology, the single speaker delivers mono, stereo and sub information across the full field.

Pastors, musicians and worship staff have all noticed a difference and praised the system. With even coverage, controlled low end and unmatched clarity, Sagebrush Church now has an audio system that fully supports the scale, energy and impact of its worship experience.
