Marvel: Earth’s Mightiest Exhibition premieres in New Zealand, featuring immersive soundscapes powered by 70 Genelec Smart IP loudspeakers
The world premiere of Marvel: Earth’s Mightiest Exhibition has opened in Wellington, offering fans an immersive journey through Marvel’s 80-year history. Produced by Semmel Exhibitions, the event is enhanced by a cutting-edge soundscape powered by 70 Genelec Smart IP loudspeakers.
Covering 2,000 square meters and featuring 11 themed galleries, the exhibition showcases rare Marvel artefacts, including original comic art and the only surviving page from the Amazing Spider-Man script. Berlin-based LEM Studios’ Sebastian M. Purfürst and acoustic scenographer Markus ‘Hossi’ Hossack developed a unique soundscape that brings Marvel’s iconic characters and stories to life.

"The soundscape follows a common musical timeline, adjusting intensities to match the dramatic presentation of each room," says Purfürst. Using Genelec’s Smart IP technology simplified the audio setup, reducing cabling needs and providing seamless integration.
Visitors are treated to immersive audio experiences, from eerie sound effects around Captain America to the surreal sonic streams of Doctor Strange. After its Wellington debut, the exhibition is set to tour internationally, continuing to captivate Marvel fans worldwide.
