Clair Global is playing a key role in launching the Audio Accessibility Alliance, which focuses on improving access for disabled professionals in live production

The Audio Accessibility Alliance (AAA) is an initative backed by Clair Global, which aims to open conversations and create meaningful change around disability in entertainment technology. The industry think tank was inspired by the determination of Michelle Guadalupe Felix Garcia, one of the few professionals whom Chris Martin himself has invited to help Coldplay record at their studio.

When Garcia, who is a blind sound engineer, contacted Live Nation about possible employment opportunities, it marked the beginning of a high-level industry wake-up call. This connection led to a special event at Rock Lititz in December 2024, where companies including Live Nation, Clair Global and Sennheiser gathered to better understand accessibility issues in the live events and touring industry.

"It was very humbling to watch Michelle at work,” said Jason Vrobel, Clair Global account executive. “She is extremely good with ProTools. The way she hears cues and moves at speed is quite something. I don't think any of us would be able to do what she does."

Clair Global later organised a personalised tour for Garcia and facilitated a recording session with JJ, a visually impaired rapper from Lancaster Country. The session provided an opportunity to explore how accessible workflows can support emerging talent in professional environments.

Garcia’s journey also caught the attention of the band Coldplay. After connecting with the band in October 2017, Chris Martin later invited her to operate the recording rig during a studio session, helping to recognise her passion and technical ability.

Although steps have been taken, accessibility remains a continuing priority and will depend on sustained collaboration across the industry to support long-term improvement.

"As an organisation, AAA would like to have a broad focus across accessibility, but in this moment, we are speaking about blindness because that's my lived experience,” Garcia concluded. “Clair Global has been such a facilitator and, after understanding fully what the company does, I feel surer than ever that I want to tour in some capacity."

Clair Global aims to support the industry in a plethora of ways, including joining the live music industry for FireAid Benefit Concert.
