MPTS 2026 has revealed the first wave of its seminar programme, with more than 130 speakers confirmed ahead of the show’s return to Olympia London on 13–14 May. Marking its tenth anniversary, the event continues to broaden its focus across production, post, broadcast technology, audio, AI and the creator economy.
This year’s line-up features contributors from organisations including the BBC, ITV, Sky, Warner Bros., Banijay, Ofcom and ITV Studios, reflecting the increasingly interconnected nature of the media and entertainment sector. Sessions will span eight theatres and conferences, offering a mix of technical insight, creative perspectives and strategic discussion.
A key theme for 2026 is the growing influence of emerging technologies on production and distribution. The AI Media Zone returns following a strong debut, examining how artificial intelligence is being applied across the content lifecycle, from ideation through to post and delivery. Alongside this, the Post Production and Broadcast Technology theatres will explore developments in cloud-based workflows, IP infrastructure and collaborative pipelines.
The SMPTE Media Technology Conference Europe will also move onto the showfloor this year, aiming to bring senior technologists closer to the wider MPTS audience. The programme will address topics including hybrid production models, next-generation broadcast systems and evolving distribution strategies.
Beyond technology, the programme reflects wider industry shifts. The Production Theatre will focus on changing workflows, sustainability and skills, while the Creator Hub highlights the continued growth of the creator economy and its relationship with traditional media.
With further speakers and sessions set to be announced in the coming weeks, MPTS 2026 is positioning itself as a forum for both technical and creative communities to examine the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of media.
