At Europe’s boutique metal festival Iron Fest Open Air, HK Audio Cosmo delivered an immersive sound experience for fans
Set against the backdrop of the Ohmbachsee lake in western Germany, Iron Fest Open Air has pushed the bar for sound technology. Selected by audio partner SPV Neuschwander, the HK Audio Cosmo Line Array System successfully provided sound reinforcement across the weekend, following its success at Malaysia’s Rock in the Jungle festival.
After attending a HK Audio Cosmo demo, SPV Neuschwander were impressed by the system’s performance. Karsten Neuschwander, technical producer at Iron Fest, echoed this enthusiasm, “We had complete trust in the COSMO system. “It provided powerful, crystal-clear coverage throughout the site and thanks to its modular design, our load-in was faster and smoother than ever, which, at a small, independently run festival, is crucial.”
With a daily capacity of 800 attendees, Iron Fest is a personal, fan-focused festival. Despite the site’s asymmetrical terrain, with a hill on one side and a slope on the other, audiences could stay close to the artists thanks to careful sound planning.
“The main requirement was ensuring both the main stage and the nearby Biergarten area received appropriate coverage,” said Vicente Rios Silvestre, application support engineer at HK Audio and the festival’s system technician. “Cosmo gave us that control, and the terrain didn’t interfere as much as we initially feared.”
HK Audio Cosmo proved easy for everyone to use, providing a reliable starting point for mixes. With no technical issues reported throughout the weekend, the system impressed engineers, artists and fans alike, reaffirming its suitability for challenging outdoor environments.
