Toto’s Dogs of Oz tour put Follow-Me’s 3D SIX system to the test, delivering precise, flexible tracking for a setlist full of shifting cues and styles

Follow-Me is back on the road with Toto’s Dogs of Oz tour, handling complex lighting demands for one of music's most enduring acts. Toto's musical repertoire presents unique challenges for lighting design, requiring a system capable of adapting to rapid stylistic changes without being confined to a single aesthetic.

As a company familiar with rock bands, Follow-Me provided its 3D SIX system for the project, functioning as follow-spots for up to six performers on stage. The SIX license outputs Posi Stage Net (PSN) and Open Sound Control (OSC) data to sync with audio, video and media server systems during the show.

Go Audio Rental, based in Hamburg, Germany, supplied the Follow-Me 3D SIX system for the European dates that kicked off in January 2025. Meanwhile, Bandit Lites provided the system for the US leg of the tour, which began in July 2025. Lighting designer Greg Classen led the production design, with Lucas Gamez from Bandit Lites serving as lighting tech.

The production faced several distinctive challenges along the way. With audiences frequently recording on their phones, lighting needed to be carefully planned, and Toto’s detailed time signatures and quick blackouts required exact cueing.

The technical setup utilised four console sets to track the band’s four mobile performers. The production's scope, however, extended beyond conventional follow-spotting, with 18 fixtures on the upstage truss also mapped into the Follow-Me system. This integration allowed the entire lighting rig to focus on specific targets during key moments.

The system proved quick to set up, adaptable to any venue and easy to fine-tune in real time. Classen also explained that the console minimised mistakes so that the audience wasn’t left in darkness for too long.

Across both continents, Follow-Me 3D SIX helped deliver a show that matched the energy and intricacy of Toto’s performance.
