Christie continues its long-standing partnership with the British Film Institute for the 69th BFI London Film Festival

Back at the South Bank for another year, Christie is helping to dazzle audiences at the 69th BFI London Film Festival (LFF), running from 8–19 October 2025. The Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall is hosting many of the week’s galas and premieres on an 18m screen powered by Christie’s RGB pure laser projection technology, with CP4455-RGB and CP4435-RGB projectors selected for the event.

Following a successful 2024 event, which saw the LFF’s highest in-person attendance in a decade with 230,342 attendees, this year’s festival is set to showcase 250 titles. The programme includes features, shorts, series and immersive works from 79 countries, inviting film lovers from around the world to discover emerging talents.

“Christie’s RGB pure laser projectors have become an integral part of our festival experience,” said Dominic Simmons, head of cinema technology at the BFI. Featuring CineLife+ electronics and Real|Laser illumination, the Christie CP4455-RGB 4K and CP4435-RGB projectors deliver bright 4K visuals, ideal for showcasing premieres on the festival’s wide screen. Simmons continued, “Their ability to deliver stunning clarity and colour on such a large scale ensures that every premiere feels as cinematic as the filmmakers intended.”

As the festival celebrates another year of global cinema, titles like Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, Rental Family and 100 Nights of Hero reflect the creativity that defines the BFI.

The LFF is not the only festival that Christie has supported recently. At the 2024 Signal Festival in Prague, the company also served as a key technical provider, underscoring its ongoing role in bringing leading visuals to cultural events around the world.
