Set in the midst of a booming economy, with levels of investment in AV and international attention growing year on year, InfoComm India has become an unmissable event for the global industry
Words Verity Butler
The pro AV calendar has revolved around a handful of flagship events for many years now. But one show in particular is commanding more of our attention – not simply because of its exhibition floor but also because of what it represents: access to one of the fastest-growing technology markets in the world.
As India’s rapid economic growth continues, InfoComm India has become far more than a regional trade show. It is now a gateway to a market in which digital transformation is accelerating at remarkable speed, infrastructure investment is climbing and demand for professional audio-visual technology is growing across virtually every sector.
At time of writing, according to the IMF, India’s economy is valued at approximately $4.15 trillion (nominal) and $18.90 trillion in purchasing power parity, cementing its current position as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies. That momentum is now fuelling widespread investment in sectors like higher education, smart workplaces, hospitality, entertainment venues and large-scale public infrastructure.
According to the World Bank Group, “India’s digital initiatives are transforming its social and economic landscape. By enabling individuals and enterprises to build digital capital, these technologies are unlocking entrepreneurship, improving access and strengthening India’s position as a global technology powerhouse.”
AVIXA’s Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis report projects India’s pro AV market to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 5.61% between 2025 and 2030, driven by increased investment in digital communication, immersive learning environments and smart infrastructure. This includes corporate campuses, command-and-control centres and museums, as well as retail spaces and live-entertainment venues, where organisations are embracing technologies that create richer, more connected experiences.
InfoComm India has become the place where conversations about these innovations begin. The exhibition has expanded its international profile, attracting manufacturers, systems integrators, consultants, distributors and end users from across Asia and beyond.
While global exhibitions often focus on mature markets, InfoComm India offers something different: a front-row seat to one of the industry’s fastest-moving regions, where ambitious projects are not just being discussed but actively commissioned. That growing influence was made evident at last year’s event.
InfoComm India 2025 welcomed more than 12,600 unique business attendees from 36 countries, which underlines India’s emergence as a regional hub for pro AV and integrated experience tech. International attendance continued to climb as businesses looked beyond traditional markets in search of new partnerships and fresh opportunities.
More than $100 million in approved project budgets were represented through the Invited Guest Programme alone. Bringing in 75 high-value buyers, it facilitated 696 pre-arranged meetings.
As tech cycles continue to get shorter and shorter, staying ahead requires an understanding of where demand is heading, as opposed to following markets that have already become established. India’s rapid urbanisation, investment in smart cities, expanding education sector and appetite for immersive experiences are creating use cases that often foreshadow wider industry trends.
That forward-thinking ethos is being recognised by InfoComm’s most recent attendees. “InfoComm India has been such a useful experience,” says Sujoy Cherian, creative technologist and CEO of Option 1 Group, UAE. “It was encouraging to reconnect with global brands and see their local distributors providing strong support in India.”
The show’s ongoing expansion has also reflected the market’s trajectory. “The show floor itself was active and vibrant, now expanded across two levels – a clear sign that opportunities in this region are growing bigger and better,” adds Cherian. For him, the significance extends beyond this year’s event. “InfoComm India represents high potential for the future of immersive technologies,” he says.
As the professional AV industry increasingly looks east for growth, InfoComm India has become a place where international expertise meets one of the world’s most exciting – and potent – technology markets.
InfoComm India will take place in Mumbai on 16-18 September 2026.
