Touring monitor engineer Andy Hernandez relies on Wisycom’s cutting-edge RF systems to deliver flawless sound for the Jonas Brothers
As the Jonas Brothers' "Five Albums. One Night. The World Tour" continues to captivate global audiences, one person behind the scenes ensures that the trio’s sound is flawless: touring monitor engineer Andy Hernandez. With nearly a decade of experience working with the band, Hernandez relies on cutting-edge technology from Wisycom to provide unbeatable sound quality and RF coverage at every tour stop.
Hernandez has a long history with the Jonas Brothers, dating back to Joe Jonas' time with DNCE. His extensive experience has made him a key figure in delivering exceptional live audio for the band's concerts. For the current world tour, Hernandez was eager to get back on the road and ensure seamless sound for the brothers’ performances. The tour spans massive arenas with multiple stages, often hosting up to 20 performers, making robust and flexible RF systems essential.
"The planning for this tour came together quickly, and the RF setup is ambitious," Hernandez said. "We’re performing in large sporting arenas with multiple stages. Wisycom checks all the boxes, delivering unmatched performance globally."

Hernandez’s RF system includes 32 stereo channels of Wisycom’s MTK982 Dual-wideband IEM Transmitter and CSI16T Smart Passive Wideband Transmit Combiner. He also uses the MAT288 Diversity Wideband Programmable Matrix Combiner for microphone reception, all integrated with a DiGiCo SD7 Quantum Desk. According to Hernandez, Wisycom’s superior RF performance and adaptability to different countries' frequency regulations have been crucial.
"Having a system that’s full spectrum simplifies everything," Hernandez said. "We can adjust depending on the RF scans of the city we're in, ensuring reliability no matter where we are."
The Wisycom system has also proven to be a game-changer for the tour’s technical team. Hernandez noted that setup times have been drastically reduced. "My RF tech, Corey Harris, can program and sync the system in under an hour, which is typically unheard of," he added.
Hernandez described Wisycom’s IEM systems as the “Ferrari” of in-ear monitoring, citing their extensive feature set and customisation options. "You can dig deep and make a lot of adjustments, but it’s also simple to use when you need it to be. The flexibility is incredible."
Having toured with the Jonas Brothers since 2021, Hernandez has played an integral role in ensuring flawless sound for the band. The “Five Albums. One Night” tour, which began in August 2023, is promoting the Jonas Brothers’ sixth studio album The Album and features hits from their entire discography. The tour is set to conclude on October 16, 2024, in Krakow, Poland.
Thanks to Wisycom’s reliable RF systems, Hernandez can confidently ensure the Jonas Brothers’ performances remain uninterrupted and seamless, keeping their sound as iconic as ever.
