Quince Imaging turned to the AV Stumpfl’s Pixera media server platform for a installation at the Honda Center in California. This was part of a broader AV overhaul for the Anaheim Ducks, the National Hockey League (NHL) team, at their 17,174-capacity home ground.
Ahead of the 2024–25 NHL season, the installation complemented a significant rebranding for the Ducks. Quince Imaging’s team took on the task of creating an immersive projection-mapping system, alongside a rigging package, 3D motion-capture system and a real-time data integration.
Quince Imaging deployed two Pixera servers with custom playback hardware. Additionally, the team included 12 Griffyn 4K50-RGB pure laser projectors to deliver 4K video content from the source to the ice.
Eric Gazzillo, Quince Imaging’s VP of innovation and the project’s director, praised AV Stumpfl USA for its high-performance visuals. “The performance, flexibility and inclusion of the Control product make it indispensable for projection-mapping installations,” Gazzillo remarked.
The system debuted on 16 October 2024 at the Ducks' first home game of the new season, where they beat the Utah Hockey Club. Ongoing content during the game included 4K videos and real-time stats visualisations to engage fans.

Quince Imaging used also Ross Video ULTRIX-FR1 router and OptiTrack motion-capture system
Pixera has streamlined Quince Imaging’s workflows by offering numerous third-party integrations. Gazzillo explained, saying, “In broadcast or theme entertainment workflows, what Pixera can do, one product might otherwise be broken out into three or four separate products or ecosystems.”
The Honda Center installation is the latest successful collaboration between Quince Imaging and AV Stumpfl. Previous projects include designing similar projection-mapping systems for the Boston Bruins.
“We're thrilled the Ducks production team is happy with the system at the Honda Center – and it's even more rewarding to see the fans loving it,” concluded Gazzillo.
