At the 2025 Telluride Film Festival, Meyer Sound marked 25 years as an audio partner – delivering cinema sound to the event’s venues
Each Labour Day weekend, which falls in early September in the US, the mountain town of Telluride in Colorado becomes the global capital of cinema. For four days, filmmakers, critics and audiences celebrate the film industry together. This year, Meyer Sound returned with its familiar Acheron speakers.
The 52nd edition of the festival showcased more than 60 feature films and short programmes, all heard through Meyer Sound cinema systems. “At Meyer Sound, our goal is to deliver cinema sound that reproduces the filmmaker’s vision exactly as it was created,” said Mark Mayfield, director of cinema marketing. “Film is a sophisticated art form, and the audience deserves to hear every nuance as it was intended.”
Meyer Sound supported the festival’s two largest venues: the 650-seat Werner Herzog Theatre and the 500-seat Galaxy Theatre. Both spaces began as unconventional venues and were transformed into screening rooms. The theatres were equipped with advanced Meyer Sound systems, featuring Acheron speakers, HMS-12 surrounds, powerful subwoofers and Galileo processors.
“For a quarter century, Meyer Sound has helped us transform unlikely spaces into unforgettable cinematic experiences,” says Julie Huntsinger, director of the Telluride Film Festival. “Their commitment to sonic clarity and artistic fidelity is rooted not just in technical excellence, but a deep respect for the work – and for the artists who trust us to present it.”
Just like at Telluride, Meyer Sound’s expertise in delivering quality audio has also been showcased at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
