Wuping No. 1 Middle School celebrated its 100th anniversary with a special concert, where Martin Audio’s signature sound delivered an immersive experience
Over its 100-year history, Wuping No. 1 Middle School in China’s Hubei Province has produced more than 50,000 successful graduates. To mark this milestone, the school hosted the Forever Azalea concert using Martin Audio’s Torus system.
Before the performance, Martin Audio’s DISPLAY3 predictive software was used to model coverage and optimise sound distribution throughout the concert hall.
The main setup in the newly built Science and Art Museum included Torus constant curvature arrays, with each hang comprising six T1215 and two T1230 speakers, delivering a Sound Pressure Level (SPL) of up to 134dB for clear audio across the venue.
The Torus cabinets offered coverage of up to 30 metres, with adjustable horizontal dispersion patterns for added flexibility. Four coaxial CDD10B speakers enhanced the stage experience, with FlexPoint FP12 speakers used as mobile returns to provide performers with versatile monitoring.
To bolster low-frequency extension, two Martin Audio SXCF11818 cardioid subwoofers were integrated with the Torus T12 array. Their cardioid design ensured optimal directivity and a compact footprint, while delivering powerful low-end sound.
The entire system was powered by Martin Audio iKON digital amplifiers, seamlessly integrated with VU-NET control software and Dante for precise management.
With this setup, the concert hall is now equipped to host a variety of performances going forward, from live concerts and operas to cultural events and major conferences.
