The HOFtheater in Raalte, Netherlands, has boosted efficiency and enhanced creativity by installing a new lighting system from Elation. The venue has now replaced its outdated halogen parts with 24 Elation KL Profile FC ellipsoidals, 16 Fuze Profile moving heads, and 24 KL Par FC units.
This upgrade not only improves lighting quality but also reduces energy consumption. “The lights are quiet, user-friendly, and the output is outstanding,” said Hans Blokpoel, head technician at the HOFtheater. “We no longer need to change colour filters or purchase new lens tubes, and the reduced power consumption is a huge cost-saving.”
With a seating capacity of 300, the theatre needed a flexible system for uniform lighting across different performances. Dutch distributor Rolight’s on-site demos and hands-on guidance ensured the selected fixtures met the team’s requirements for this small theatre with a low ceiling.

The new system features advanced fixtures like the KL PROFILE FC, KL PAR FC, and FUZE PROFILE
The KL Profile FC is a full-spectrum ellipsoidal framing fixture used for front lighting, while the KL ar FC, selected for overhead and backlighting, offers adjustable colour temperature, four lens options, and barndoors. The Fuze Profile provides dynamic lighting with remote focus and framing capabilities, making it useful for live music and special effects.
With these new fixtures, the theatre enjoys enhanced colour control and dynamic lighting effects thanks to RGBMA LED engines and ColourTune Technology, ensuring consistent output and colour matching while reducing the need for frequent maintenance.
Completed in August 2024, the lighting installation marked a significant upgrade. "The new lights have elevated the quality of our productions, and we’re very happy with it,” concluded Hans.
