APG’s iX series speakers and Active Audio column speakers are at the heart of Paris-based AV specialist Videlio’s major overhaul at Europe’s largest shopping centre, Westfield Les 4 Temps.
With more than 200 shops, 40 restaurants and a 16-screen cinema, Westfield Les 4 Temps is a major shopping centre that has decided to undertake an audio upgrade to make sound an integral part of the shopping experience.
The installation of APG audio products was designed to complement the series of three large, curved LED screens in the shopping centre and grab the attention of busy shoppers. The design of this display and audio system was overseen by the creative agency Tetro.
The decision to use APG loudspeakers was driven by four key factors: its technological expertise, the strength of its bid, the fact that its products are designed and manufactured in France, and the support the company can offer its integration partners.
Stéphane Le Roux, head of digital media for Videlio’s specialist complex-projects division, Videlio-Scénotechnique, appreciated the expertise of APG, saying, “There was thorough consultation before and during the project. All this set APG apart from the competition.”
The 12-channel audio system comprises 28 iX5, APG’s ultra-compact indoor coaxial loudspeakers, distributed across the two convex LED screens. Elsewhere, R210TC column speakers by APG’s sister company, Active Audio, are strategically positioned, providing intelligible sound projection.

APG’s iX5 is the smallest of the iX family, combining coaxial technology with an integral baffle
Westfield Les 4 Temps' first immersive audio system is already in use by advertisers such as Coca-Cola. Perceval de Saint-Seine, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s senior media manager for Europe, demonstrates the aim of the installation, saying, “We want to offer a complete experience to our customers and positively surprise them. This drives us to choose top-tier technology and partners to ensure no compromise on quality.”
APG speakers have also enhanced the renowned sanctuary of Lourdes in France – read more here.
